Two colour printed cards, one ‘baptism' and one ‘font roll remembrance' cards.
The baptism card measures 19 x 14cm, while the smaller Font Roll card measures 12 x 10cm, both with elaborate colour printing rectos only, versos blank. The inscription on the baptismal card is ‘1914' while the other is undated but is of the same vintage.
Each card is made out to a member of the ‘Killey' family (one to Kathaleen Alexandra Killey, the other to Margaret A. Killey', who were members of St. Monica's Church in Toronto. According to the Church's website, ‘St. Monica's Parish occupies a unique place in the history of the City of Toronto and in the life of the Church. It was established in 1906 through the generosity of Mr. Eugene O'Keefe. The name "Saint Monica" was given in honour of Eugene O'Keefe's wife, Helen, who had a great devotion and admiration for St. Monica. It was to be built in Eglinton, Ontario, in the "far northern suburbs" of Toronto, and was to serve the needs of all Catholics living north of St. Clair Avenue.'
Roll card has a crease on one corner o/w these are very nice examples of colour printed cards used by the Church in Toronto at this time. $100 for both.
