Irene Osgood (1875-1922) American novelist, poet and dramatist. Born in Virginia, she spent the majority of her life in English. Her second husband was the English author, Robert Sherard, great-grandson of William Wordsworth. Their divorce caused a scandal as Sherard claimed that he had written many of the books that were published under Osgood's name. Her novels include To a Nun Confessed; Servitude; The Indelicate Duellist and the Chant of a Lonely Hunter.
