"The author was appointed the Consul-General at Kashgar, and started off from Strinigar to Kashgar through Gilgit, Hunza, Mintaka Pass and Takqurghan in 1922 on a journey of two and a quarter years. Then he explored Qungur peaks, and made tours to Yarkand, Khotan and Keriya."
