The descriptions include, details of Ajaccio, Bocognano, La Pintica, Corte, La Scala Di Santa Regina, Bastia, the north coast, the west coast and the south.

W.I.R. refers to the Workers International Relief, an organization formed to collect and distribute relief during strikes, internationally--Barbusse was an honorary patron.
