Remedius Prutky, Franciscan missionary, was in 1751 appointed vice prefect of a mission sent to Ethiopia in response to an invitation by the then emperor, Iyasu II. He spent 17 months in the country they returned to Rome. Prutky travelled from Rome to Bohemia, and then to Alexandria.
