Some minor damp to a few leaves in volume one, scattered foxing but in fact a near fine copy in the original boards.
Thomas Hamilton [1789-1842] miscellaneous writer. Hamilton joined the army and served in the Peninsular campaigns and was seriously wounded at the battle at Albuera. He was also stationed in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, retiring to Edinburgh in 1818. In 1829, Hamilton published his “energetic and picturesque” ‘Annals of the Peninsular Campaigns.'
