Autograph postcard (4” x 5 ¾”), signed to Mr. J.R. Nielson in Edmonds, Washington, no date (197-?). Postmarked Monaco. “…But I will now confront that Cornish bastard with evidence of disaffection and slander. I do not drink Löwenbrau and have not done so for years. A foul libel…” Almost certainly referring to A.L. Rowse, whom Burgess despised. Card depicts the Monte Carlo Casino. Corners bumped, faint dampstaining causing a few letters to bleed. Near fine.
Burgess spent the final years of his life in Monaco, having settled there in 1976.
