New York: McLoughlin Bros., 1906. Vintage puzzle within frame measuring 21.5 x 16.5cm (including frame), contained in a folding box (24 x 18cm) with a large pictorial paper panel. A fine example of this puzzle designed for children.
The puzzle was produced by McLoughlin Bros., based in New York City. Established in the mid-1850s, the firm was a pioneer in the use of colour printing processes in children's books, puzzles, and toys. In 1920 it was purchased by Milton Bradley and its Brooklyn factory was closed, though the brand remained alive until the 1970s
