(London: George Newnes, August, 1891). First appearance of this Sherlock Holmes story. Sm. 4to., orig. light green pictorial wrappers, Doyle story appears pp. 190-204 (double columns). Illustrations by Sidney Paget. Slight chipping to the ends of the spine, a few nicks to the outer edge of the upper wrapper, but this is o/w a near fine copy in this delicate format. Individual issues of the The Strand with Holmes stories are scarce. Green & Gibson A10 notes (ii).
