(London: George Newnes, September, 1891). First appearance of this Sherlock Holmes story. Sm. 4to., orig. light green pictorial wrappers, Doyle story appears pp. 248-259 (double columns). Illustrations by Sidney Paget. Some faint damp which has caused some rippling to pages, perimeter and spine of wrappers browned but this is still near fine. Individual issues of the The Strand with Holmes stories are scarce. Green & Gibson A10 notes (iii).
