(London: George Newnes, October, 1891). First appearance of this Sherlock Holmes story. Sm. 4to., orig. light green pictorial wrappers, Doyle story appears pp. 401-416 (double columns). Illustrations by Sidney Paget. 1” chip at the foot of the spine, some nicks to the top of the spines, some discoloration around the perimeter but still a near fine copy of this delicate format. Individual issues of the The Strand with Holmes stories are scarce. Green & Gibson A10 notes (iv).
This Sherlock Holmes story was later collected in "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes".
