(London: George Newnes, Dec. 1910). First UK appearance of this short story by Doyle. Sm. 4to., orig. colour pictorial wrappers, Doyle story appears pp. 639-653 (double columns). Illustrations by Gilbert Halliday. 3” piece chipped off at the bottom of the spine, some creasing and rubbing but still an acceptable copy. Green & Gibson A40-notes (vii).
This is the 47th Sherlock Holmes story which had its first appearance in the The Strand Magazine above. It was later collected in "His Last Bow: Some Reminiscences of Sherlock Holmes" (1917).
