Joseph de Maistre [1754-1821] influential statesman for the Kingdom of Sardinia, Senator of Savoie, French writer and philosopher who wrote several very successful works. This new edition is based on the London edition of 1797 and has been revised and corrected by the author. According to the Preface these corrections and revisions make this edition preferable to previous editions.
