WISEMAN, Richard. Severall Chirurgicall Treatises.
London: Printed by E. Flesher and J. Macock, for R. Royston,... 1676. First edition. 4to., 20th century full calf, blind-stamped panels, raised bands, leather spine label (after the period-- in fact the boards have been marked and stained to mimic a contemporary binding), (16), (1)-498, 79 (15)pp. The first signature is slightly sprung, title-page and dedication leaf closely trimmed on the outer edge but without loss, minor dampstain affecting a small bit of the outer margin in the last third of the volume, foxing and browning throughout but this is certainly a very good copy of this important work, which has been rebound in a modern binding after the period that has been ‘treated' to appear contemporary.

Wiseman realized the difference between gonorrhea and syphilis...'(Heirs of Hippocrates). G & M 5573; Waller 10368; Norman 2253; Osler 4258; Heirs of Hippocrates 350; ESTC 12081.
