Title-page mounted with some browning, one plate has been reinforced on the rear (no loss), some smudging and a bit of foxing to some plates, a few marginal smudges and marks, but o/w this is a better than very good copy in a modern binding.
Charles White [1728-1813] English physician and co-founder of the Manchester Royal Infirmary. White made important contributions to the fields of orthopaedics, obstetrics, and surgery. In this work White relates the particulars of a number of cases including his procedure for reducing dislocations of the shoulder and another that involved sawing off the humeral head. White states in the preface that some these descriptions have been previously published in journals. Norman 2231.
