Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1926. First U.S. edition. Tall thick 8vo., original cloth, xvi, 306pp. With a folding map at rear, 5 panoramas, and 51 black and white illustrations, map on endpapers. Spine gilt a bit dull otherwise a near fine copy in the remains of the dustwrapper; the rear panel is missing but the flaps and the upper wrapper are present but chipped.
"The author was appointed the Consul-General at Kashgar, and started off from Strinigar to Kashgar through Gilgit, Hunza, Mintaka Pass and Takqurghan in 1922 on a journey of two and a quarter years. Then he explored Qungur peaks, and made tours to Yarkand, Khotan and Keriya."
