Philip Merivale (1886-1946) English film and stage actor, who had a lengthy career on Broadway as well as in London's West End. He played the part of Shakespeare in Dane's play which opened at the Shaftsbury Theatre, London. Curiously, the cast also re-enacted short scenes from the play for a silent short film produced for the Around the Town newsreel in 1922.
