London: C. Kegan Paul & Co., 1880. First edition. "International Scientific Series Volume XXIX." 8vo., orig. red cloth stamped in black and gilt, (xii), 708, 32pp.ads. With 184 woodcuts in the text. Inner front hinge cracked, a few holes in the front spine gutter but this is still a better than very good copy of an uncommon work. Not in Garrison & Morton which notes Bastian's other works.
