London: George Routledge & Co., 1858. A Revised edition with numerous emendations and additions. There is a 1 page AL's from Russell pasted on the front e/paper dated "Lucknow April 10, 1858 to a Patrick Stewart " reading "To Patrick Stewart in the sincere hope that future years may ripen and cement a friendship from which the writer has already derived pleasure & advantage. This volume is presented as a very inadequate token of this great regard by the author." Tall 8vo., bound in contemporary full dark green morocco, raised bands, gilt compartments, gilt borders, A.E.G., (viii), 629pp. With Illustrations and folding plans including 4 in a pocket at the rear. Bookplate, there are some short tears in some of the folding plans, outer front hinge rubbed and tender but not cracked, overall a near fine copy in an nice binding.
