The photographs measure 7" X 4 1/2" and are mounted in the album with a printed border. All the photographs are identified and the scenes are: Ryde, Brading Church, Bembridge Point, Sandown, Shanklin, Dunnose Head, Shaklin Chine, Luccombe, Bonchurch (2), Ventnor (2)Steephill Castle, Steephill Cove, Undercliff at Niton, Carisbrooke, Freshwater, Alum Bay, The Needles, Blackgang Chine. Someone has tipped a map of the Isle of Wight on the verso of one page. Also included are 5 pp. of contemporary manuscript notes relating to the photographs. The album itself measures approx. 9" X 12 1/2", orig. green cloth, title "Isle of Wight" in gilt on the upper cover, A.E.G. There is some wear to the spine ends and corners o/w very good, the photographs are fine. $850.00 |
