Laid in the book is a brochure from the 1941 Thomas William Salmon Lectures listing Gillespie as a speaker and a hand-written letter from Dr. C. G. Stogdill stating he had an appointment scheduled with Gillespie on the day he died, which Stogdill had to cancel for a government meeting.
