This book is a sequel to an earlier work, "Cry of the Children" and focuses on the condition of children living in poverty, suffering cruelty, particularly those who are victims of drunken parents.

George Sims [1847-1922] English dramatist and journalist. Sims began his career as a journalist in 1874. He was concerned with the condition of the poor, particularly the London poor and wrote "The Way the Poor Live" (1883) as series of articles in the Daily News which helped arouse public opinion on the matter. The above work is a sequel to an earlier work, "Cry of the Children" and focuses on the condition of children living in poverty, suffering cruelty, particularly those who are victims of drunken parents.
